CurrentBSI is working to reduce snakebite related mortality and disability in East & West Champaran districts of Bihar through awareness progarmmes. The main mission of Bihar Snakebite Initiative is to aware communities in India’s most backward state, Bihar particularly rural Bihar about snakebite envenomation including prevention, first aid, treatment and human-snake conflict mitigation. The Bihar Snakebite Initiative will also focus on to train people to rescue and relocate the venomous and non-venomous snakes following snake encounters.The core vision of Bihar Snakebite Initiative is that the numbers of mortality caused by snakebite and cases of disability may be reduced by 50% before 2030 through advocacy and mass awareness programmes throughout the state of Bihar especially in rural areas where most snakebite cases are reported.
