Leadership of School with 1800 students in Criminal Justice, Public Policy, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, and Non-Profit Studies. From 2010-2016 over 25 new faculty members have joined the Wilder School and a new Chair in Indian Democracy and Civil Society has been established. In 2013 the VCU Board of Visitors and the State Council of Higher Education elevated the Wilder School to stand-alone status as one of only 13 schools at VCU.

Led a department with 12 tenure-track faculty members. Two new faculty members joined the department and two were tenured and promoted. Collaborated with Department of Architecture to increase joint offerings. Established the Jammal lecture on globalization with Professor Saskia Sassen as the inaugural lecturer. Initiated development of new PhD Program in Urban PlanningDeveloped new international urban planning studio that was cited as a "Best Practice" by the Institute of International Education and that received Honorable mention in the Heiskell Awards Competition

Directed the Doctoral programs in Urban Planning and Development and in Public Administration. Led the creation of the PhD in Policy, Planning, and Development, which was one of the most acclaimed PhDs within USC. Served as Chair of the American Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP) Doctoral committee and as a member of the Doctoral committee of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA). Author and editor of 2 books and over 25 papers (some work translated into Italian, German, and Korean) and invited speaker at several leading universities in the USA and overseas.
