As the course coordinator for PHYS 1501Q with seven or eight sections taught by multiple instructors, my role can be summarized as follows:• Continue the development of this course that was first launched in Fall 2019 by collaborating with the other instructors to add/edit/revise lecture slides, tutorial problems, instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities for the students, etc.• Hold weekly meetings to train, mentor and guide the Teaching Assistants (TAs) as well as the Lab Technician who leads the lab portion of the meeting• Hold weekly Development Committee meetings with the other instructors to discuss course materials such as lecture slides, tutorial problems, labs, exams, etc., and to make plans for upcoming weeks• Communicate with the other instructors, the Director of Physics Teaching Labs, and the Department Head on a regular basis to resolve issues regarding the course or the labs• Coordinate common exams for all the sections (350-400 students), including reservation of space, proctoring, assigning grading duties to the TAs, etc.• Monitor fairness to students across all the sections• Make common lecture slides and tutorial problems available to the TAs so that they can prepare for their duties ahead of time, and to the students across all the sections

Project focus:• Wrote codes for a small quantum mechanical system in Mathematica and Python to understand the system • Employed C++ library “Intelligent Tensor” (http://itensor.org/) extensively to carry out the simulation of large quantum mechanical systems with the use of numerical approximation method “Density Matrix Renormalization Group (DMRG)”• Wrote Linux bash scripts to break massive output data of C++ into several pieces and plot graphs• Used LaTeX to organize and analyze the graphs • Proficiency in linear algebra and numerical analysis of data
