 Help AWS Customer to troubleshoot the issues with their AWS Cloud Database Instance.  Help customer to create, modify, upgrade, and migrate database (Mostly PostgreSQL and Oracle) in AWS Cloud.  Work with customer either on chat or call to understand their environment and recommend them best practices to improve performance of their database.  Troubleshoot Customer Performance problem using AWS native tools and monitoring.  Help Customer to find root cause of their performance issue using Monitoring like CloudWatch and Performance Insight. Help customer with their DR strategy either by creating cross region read replica in RDS environment or Aurora Global Cluster for Aurora Environment.  Help Customer with their HA strategy either by creating Multi A-Z clusters or Aurora Clusters with one writer and multiple readers to failover to in case of failure.  Help them troubleshoot their connectivity issue by reviewing their current VPC, Security Group, Subnet, and Route table information. Review customer environment and suggest them best practice to reduce cost on cloud.  Worked on RDS PostgreSQL V 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 Aurora PostgreSQL 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, RDS oracle 12 and 19.  Review the wait event metrics to find the root cause of the Performance Issue. Pursuing my SME for PostgreSQL in AWS currently.

Responsibilities:  ORACLE: • Manage wide range of oracle databases on daily bases. • Support other teams to deploy their code in production. • Manage jobs, troubleshoot queries, monitor performance, tune queries. • Perform schema refresh. Backup-recovery using RMAN and Datapump. • Set up new environment, create new database, modify existing database. • Migrated more than 100 oracle databases to newer version of oracle. • Planning on migrating oracle 10g/11g to 19c. • Monitoring oracle databases using OEM.  MSSQL: • Installed SQL and created SQL server databases. • Migrated hundreds of SQL databases to newer version of SQL (2016/2017/2019). • Manage databases on daily bases. Performance Tuning, troubleshooting slow queries, and support smooth execution of applications on day to day bases.• Setup and Manage database replication.• Manage database objects like tables, views, triggers, store procedures, packages, synonyms, etc. • Set up backup jobs. Perform disaster recovery if needed, object level recovery, Full database backup-recovery. • Worked on SSIS, SSRS services. • Used SSMA to migrate oracle/access databases to SQL server.  IBM DB2: • Manage DB2 databases on AIX. • Monitor performance and help support legacy application. • Troubleshoot long running processes. • Purge billions of records from production table which had high dependencies. • Migrate DB2 databases from older version to newer. (10.5 to 11.1) • Planning on migrating DB2 AIX server to Linux for better maintenance.  MySQL: • New edition to deluxe family. • Performed refresh of schema from Prod to lower env. • Set up multi master severs to support high availability applications. • Manages MySQL on AWS cloud. • Monitor performance using zabbix or cloud monitoring.

Performed Disaster Recovery activities successfully.  Tested and Implemented different physical and logical Backup and Recovery methods like point in time, Media recovery, Full/partial export/import.  Review, validate and applied Oracle security patches.  Installed and configured OEM agent for Oracle 10g and 11g Database. Prepare PL/SQL Scripting for tuning and development purpose. Help undergraduate or graduate students to solve their doubts in different courses like DBMS, Analytics and Visualization, Linux operations, Security Networking, Project management, Quality control, and Software Engineering.  Help students to learn about different software and try to make them familiar with the latest technology.  Manage lab equipment and make sure that all works efficiently.  Install and upgrade software.
