A journalist turned banker with over 17 years of experience between Journalism and Banking. Worked in over half a dozen cities encompassing geographies as diverse as Patna to Mumbai and New Delhi to New York.Presently a treasury professional in Senior Management Role at the US operations of India’s largest bank. In my current role I am responsible for managing over USD 14 billion through a mix of Money Market instruments. Key responsibilities include gap funding, raising resources, deciding the interest rate for different kinds of liability products in the basket in order to achieve the desirable level of interest margin and hedging the balance sheet. I am also responsible for guiding other traders on Money Market, Derivative, Forex and Bond Trading. In my previous roles at the bank, I have effectively managed the strategic investment portfolio of the Bank, been a forex trader and have been responsible for analyzing commercial credit proposals involving hundreds of millions of dollars. Have also headed a branch team of our National Banking Division.A story-teller and a mass communication professional I am always on the lookout for opportunities demanding the above skills, which is why I am also on the Editorial Board of our Bank’s in-house magazine.In my earlier avatar as a Journalist I worked as Economic Reporter with India’s largest news Agency Press Trust of India followed by a stint as Senior Business Journalist with The Economic Times where I wrote on a diverse set of topics from Finance to Fashion with exclusive responsibility of covering Banking related developments.Teaching and mentoring come naturally to me, so does public speaking.
