I worked at TORR International Inc. as a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer. Major roles: Initial project planning, product designing & evaluation through CAD/Solidworks and simulation, planning & allocation of resources, final inspection, training & installation for high to ultra-high vacuum deposition systems that involves thin film optical coating & semiconductor industry processes such as Magnetron Sputtering, Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS), Ion Beam Deposition (IBD), Ion Beam Assisted Deposition (IBAD), Electron Beam, Resistive Thermal Evaporation, Atomic Layer Deposition, Plasma Etching. These processes were used for different applications and not limited to optical coating, plasma processing, multi-layer coating techniques, solar, pharmaceutical, semiconductor industries.Besides my primary role as a design engineer and project planning, I was also involved in procurement, sales, marketing, having understanding of physical vapor deposition equipment accessories such as magnetron sources, e-beam source, ion beam sources, turbo pumps, cryo pumps, mechanical pumps, diffusion pumps, helium leak detector, residual gas analyzer, vacuum gauges, sensors, IR heaters, water chillers, heat exchangers.My achievements at TORR International Inc. are as follows:•Implemented utilization of Solidworks (3D Modeling) to design various nanotechnology research process equipment involving thin film deposition and etching processes.•Reduced equipment design time by 75 % through 3D modeling•Interfaced with customers to determine requirements and develop various solutions.
