    Alabama Motor Carrier System (AMC) – International Registration Plan (MCS-IRP), IFTA (Quarterly Tax Return)• The IRP and IFTA (Quarterly tax return) system is a multi-tires application used by the state of Alabama which is written in mainframe COBOL and DB2. IFTA system was created by RPC (New York).• The project is to convert, combine and enhance the whole system in WEB enabled J2EE application.• The objective of the system is to hook up with existing web based MCS – IRP project. Responsibilities• My project responsibility includes communication with development team to provide requirements from existing system, requirement specification and use cases.• I am also responsible for the project structure, coding standard, technology concept approval, logical design and code review of all modules and sub modules. • I am also responsible for the version control and build and release management in development and production environment. • I am also responsible for the development and implementation of failure proof payment module.• During this development I have to interact and maintain, Alabama state UAT, pre production and production environment for MCS – IRP and IFTA - Quarterly Tax Return. • This project also includes the interaction with Hummingbird document management system from AMC.     Document Management System (DMS)• This is the N-Tiers application, which is specially build for the clients of Mangalam Infotech. • The system stores scanned documents somewhere on a hard drive or optical disk. The documents then get indexed. When a person later wants to read a document, he or she uses the retrieval tools available in the system. Which documents can be read and what actions performed on these documents is dependent on the access provided by the system administrator. • The system includes mainly three modules administration, back office operation (scanning and indexing), client operations. • All business logic and database interaction is written in EJB while web application developed with the use of struts and JApplet. Responsibilities• Involved in the design of database schema, creation of tables and rules.• Implemented role based double layer security for the application using Database and XML. • Developed EJB’s to perform security mechanism, business logic and database interaction.• Developed back office work module for document uploading and indexing using JSP, CSS and Java Script.• Designed a batch process module, which would transfer files over Intranet using EJB server.• Deploying and managing the application on JBoss server.• Implemented the logging mechanism in the application using log4J.• During the life cycle of the project my responsibility was also includes PostgreSQL database administration and maintenance over Linux server in development environment.• During the project development we used Subversion version control system and I am also responsible for the branching, merging, conflict resolving, user rights and other administration of SVN.Environment: Java, Applet, Java Script, J2EE, Struts, EJB, JNDI, JDBC, XML, HTML, CSS, Database: PostgreSQL, DB2, Application Server: Jboss 4.0.
