Tier 2 (Noc) Network Operations Center Engineer
Current• Monitoring and Troubleshooting Nationwide Optical Transmission Network and IP/MPLS Network.• Hands on experience with Nokia/Alcatel Lucent 7750 SR-7 & SR-12 (Service Router), Nokia/Alcatel Lucent 7450 ESS-7 & ESS-12 (Ethernet Service Switch), Nokia/Alcatel Lucent 7210 SAS (Service Access Switch) and monitoring tool 5620 SAM (Service Aware Manager).• Troubleshooting and resolving network faults and customer complaints pertaining to Transmission Network services which includes (SDH/EoSDH/OTN/fibre Channel).• Hands-on experience with Nokia/Alcatel Lucent Transmission Products which includes 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS-4/16/32/64), 1850 Transport Service Switch, 1626 Light Manager, 1675 Lambda Unite, 1663 Add Drop Mux and ADVA – fiber Service Platform 3000• Monitoring the Vocus core and aggregation network, identifying the faults, communicating, and updating the shareholders about the nationwide (critical) and major outages, sending notification to affected customers, and finding the root cause to resolve the network issue within SLA.• Troubleshooting the faults for customers (enterprise, wholesale, and government.) escalated by Tier 1 for issues related to MPLS L2, L3 VPN, Internet and other services including network performance issues like latency, throughput, dropouts in access, aggregation, and core layers.• Troubleshooting faults related to cloud infrastructure including Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention and Detection Systems preventing DDOS attacks by black holing the traffic or rate limiting it.• Diagnosis and investigation of faults related to core transmission technologies like DWDM and SDH, engaging the field technicians to fix the fiber and device faults.• Perform the role as a Major Incident Controller during Major Service Outages, acting as the first point of escalation for operational issues and defining, communicating, and implementing escalation plans and fix strategies to restore service to meet service level targets.
