I am a passionate researcher and educator in the field of Biotechnology and Microbiology, specifically Algal Biotechnology, with a vision to harness the potential of algae and seaweed for sustainable living. I believe in translating scientific discoveries into practical applications that benefit society and the environment.As a Research Fellow of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India, I am currently working at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, Punjab. My research project is an industry-academia collaboration that aims to develop innovative solutions for utilizing lipid-extracted microalgal biomass. I also enjoy teaching and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students on various topics and projects related to industrial biotechnology.Previously, I have gained one year of industrial experience in the algal industry, where I worked on optimizing the bioprocesses for algal nutraceuticals production and quality control of the final product.In addition, I am also part of two start-ups: Soil Biocare Agrotech, which makes Biofertilizers (Cyanobacterial and bacterial nitrogen fixers, Phosphate solubilizers), Bio-composter and Bio-compost, and Thinkwave Technologies LLP, which creates real-time soil NPK content analyzers, wearable pollution control mask and aquaculture water parameter controlling systems.I am always eager to learn new skills and explore new opportunities in the exciting field of Algal Biotechnology, broadly in the field of Biotechnology. In the near future, I aspire to work with firms that are involved in developing and marketing Algae/Seaweed products for various applications.
