Director of a new architectural practice based in Leeds established in 2009 as the successor company to Allen Tod Architecture Ltd. We are involved with projects in the fields of arts and culture, conservation and regeneration, ecclesiastical architecture, education and housing.I am joint responsible for a number of the projects at different work stages, preparing bid documents, networking with other businesses, developing relationships with existing clients and financial management of the practice.Selected Projects:Winstanley Hall, Wigan: Grade II*Options appraisal investigating a viable future for a grade ll* C16th mansion and its outbuildings. The appraisal, in conjunction with a historic buildings trust was carried out on behalf of English Heritage and Wigan Council.Sleaford Maltings, £32mMixed use redevelopment of a set of grade II* listed industrial buildings into residential, office, retail, health care and public space. The scheme explores the effective re-use of the existing buildings and site. The aim is to form a characteristic town quarter within the building complex and act as a catalyst for major brownfield development. A combination of selective demolition and new build are to create new public spaces to act as social focus for the development.Long Street Methodist Church, Middleton: Grade ll*Feasibility study exploring alternative uses for an Arts and Crafts church by Edgar Wood, on behalf of The Heritage Trust for the North West, who have now acquired the church. The scheme ensures that worship will continue alongside other secular activities.Bradford Clergy House: Grade llOptions appraisal in conjunction with a building preservation trust on the future of a former clergy house and the Cathedral Hall for Bradford Cathedral.

Project Architect for a number of projects mostly involving the refurbishment and alterations of listed buildings. Tasks included preparing planning applications and feasibility studies, tender information packages - working drawings and specification writing, resolving construction / technical issues and queries, managing the work of other consultants, monitoring quality and progress on site, contract administration and dealing with issues post practical completion.Selected Projects:Barnsley Civic Hall, £3m, Management ContractRefurbishment and alterations of a grade II listed building into public reception areas, offices and training rooms for Barnsley Council. As Project Architect and Contract Administrator, I managed the project from tender stage through to completion to deliver a successful and pleasing building for the client. This was a particularly complex project with a mix of new build and historic building works undertaken for a local authority. I undertook this role with considerable skill and care and was commended from all members of the team from contractor to client.Mistress Lane, Armley, Leeds, £35mDesign competition for a large residential neighbourhood development for Yorkshire Housing. Involved with concept design and producing presentation drawings that helped win the competition.

Worked as part of a team delivering a number of projects at planning and feasibility stages. Tasks included producing presentation drawings, managing the flow of information between consultants, preparing cost estimates, surveys, submitting planning applications and writing feasibility studies.Selected Projects: Barbican Venture, York, £36mNew build development of a 28,500 sqm site. Scheme included a residential block of 240 apartments, 125 bed 4* hotel, swimming pool and public car park. Assisted with design development, client presentations and helping submit a successful planning application.Hensall Methodist Church, £100kProposed extension and alterations to an existing chapel. Demonstrated strong client relationship skills to deliver a feasibility study and successful planning application that me the client’s vision and budget.

Selected Projects:King Street Wharf Site 6, Darling Harbour, Sydney, $140mLarge commercial and retail development along the waterfront in Darling Harbour comprising of two 13 storey tower blocks. Critical role within a team responsible for managing the flow of amended drawings between consultants and client to submit a planning application.Brickfield Place, World Square, George Street, Sydney, $300mPart of a team preparing a large development application for a retail & commercial building with 50 storey tower block of apartments.
