The system has two components, a mobile (handset-based) application, and a server-based application accessed via a Web portal.In the current version, the Equilibrio system supports a practitioner-driven model, in which a health and wellness practitioner (e.g. personal trainer, dietitian, coach, physical therapist, physician, etc.) establishes a health and wellness plan for their client (the user) using the aforementioned Web portal. This plan is then translated into a series of activities and events, and delivered to a mobile application, allowing the user to review their plan, log their actual outcomes and actions, and view their results, all using an ordinary cell phone capable of running a MIDP 2.0 application. This logged data is sent back to the server, allowing the practitioner to monitor their clients' compliance with goals and to intervene as necessary.The mobile application itself was initially envisioned as a true stand-alone application, complete with local databases and the ability to function without connectivity using stored data.
