Service Engineer
CurrentIn my role as a Biomedical Service Engineer, my primary responsibilities encompass the repair and maintenance of critical care medical equipment. This equipment includes essential devices such as dialysis machines, anaesthetic machines, ventilators, endoscopy stacks, and central patient monitors.Furthermore, I actively engage with the procurement department to facilitate effective management of hospital assets, including endoscopy scopes. My duties extend to ensuring judicious allocation of resources for optimal equipment performance and longevity.My commitment to maintaining patient safety and compliance is unwavering. I meticulously conduct maintenance and routine testing of patient areas in strict adherence to AS/NZ 3003 standards. This diligent approach ensures that the hospital's infrastructure consistently meets the highest Australian medical standards.Collaboration with hospital staff is a cornerstone of my role. I work closely with theatre personnel and surgeons, responding promptly to theatre call-outs. This seamless interaction maximizes the efficiency of the operating rooms, which is paramount in critical care scenarios. My liaisons with nurse unit managers, facility managers, and other key hospital staff further bolster our collective efforts to meet customer needs, particularly in addressing medical equipment breakdowns and maintaining equipment and patient area compliance.In the pursuit of excellence, I maintain a close relationship with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and subcontractors. This enables the timely and cost-effective execution of repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.I am deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of patient care, equipment performance, and hospital compliance.
