At Phase3 I was employed as a contract administrator working within the commercial landscape construction division. My main responsibilities involved, but were not limited to:• Contract administration of projects ranging from $100k to $5 million• Working directly with Site Supervisor and Project Director to ensure the project was delivered on time, within budget and to the up-most quality• Constant liaison with client/superintendents through written and verbal communication as well as site meetings• Closely following all landscape drawings, schedule and specifications to ensure the required product was being delivered• Using the BOQ to ensure the project was following budget• Creating, following and managing construction programmes using MS Project• Determining variations to the contract and preparing cost estimates for variation works• Procurement of all materials• Engaging and managing sub-contractors• Using CHEOPS to ensure all progress claims, invoices, variations and recipient created tax invoices were submitted on time• Working with Safety Manager to ensure all OH&S requirements were adhered to

At BCL Group I was employed as a project engineer responsible for all aspects of successful project delivery, after the project was handed over from the estimating department. The projects I worked on were in the landscaping and civil construction industry, in both local and regional areas. When working in remote areas there was a requirement to act as both the site supervisor and project manager. My main responsibilities involved, but were not limited to:• Project Management of contracts ranging from $120k to $1.75 million• Site Supervision including daily pre-start meetings with employees and sub-contractors, undertaking site inductions for all visitors, toolbox meetings, incident reporting, issue resolution, OH&S procedures and all aspects involved with safely managing a site.• Building projects by closely following construction plans and budget provided• Procurement of all materials• Liaising closely with the client and superintendent, including weekly site meetings.• Daily and weekly reporting of site activities including reporting of KPI’s.• Creating and adhering to construction programmes• Determining variations to the contract and preparing cost estimates for variation works• Preparing the necessary forms and documentation prior to project commencement including safety management, integrated project management and environmental management plans * Contract Administration duties

The part time work at Mintrex was an enjoyable, fulfilling and educational experience. I was exposed to a range of aspects and different tasks on many projects which allowed for a greater understanding of how the industry operates as a whole. The roles I undertook allowed for a differentiation between real life workplace procedures compared to some academic methods. I had the opportunity to work with professional engineers, draftsmen and accountants who were able to provide exceptional assistance wherever possible• Onsite work at Northam, familiarising and labelling mechanical equipment• Using Microstation to create, reference, level and dimension 2D and 3D drawings• Using Microsoft excel to create equipment and mechanical line lists• Assist senior engineers and draftees with all aspects of the jobs
