“Finance is just advanced common sense.”This is my how I define my passion- Finance. People think of it as a complex field, but my personal viewpoint is clearly otherwise. I can spend the character limit talking about why I love finance, but I perceive the above definition will speak for itself. When people ask me why I am so passionate about this conventionally “boring” field, I tell them one thing I love doing the most- solving problems to bring a change. I have been driven by my intellectual curiosity to answer the questions that really matter. As an undergraduate student earning his Bcom at the University of Toronto, I am constantly working towards building my natural ability to succeed in the finance industry. Be it technical expertise or the highly useful soft-skills employers look for, I always improve on these pivotal skills on a daily basis. But one thing that makes me unique is that I know people and my zeal to be a lifelong learner helps me understand them on a deeper level. At UofT, I have engaged myself to be a valuable part of numerous organizations and extra-curricular activities to keep myself active in the community. I am the Director of Finance at the Hindu Student's Council, where I am entrusted with the responsibility of managing the finances of the organization and help arrange for sponsorships and budget-preparation. I represent the University’s cricket team not only by playing for them but by also being the Marketing Executive Head for the club. These positions have advanced my leadership, team-playing and interpersonal skills on a broader level.As I further my education, I hope to gain more professional experience within the realms of capital markets, in order to pursue my goal of becoming an Investment Banker with an article written about him me in the Forbes magazine. Unusual and specific, right!
