Fourth year medical imaging student, future radiographer. My determination to pursue a career within the medical field has brought me across the country to Deakin University.The most valuable lesson I have learned from my course so far has been the importance of teamwork, communication and patient centred care. Even though I knew I wanted to be in the healthcare setting, it took me some time to find a field best suited to me and my qualities. Pursuing an education in medical imaging has been the most challenging and fulfilling decision I have ever made. This year I will be broadening my knowledge of research and practice management as I continue to develop my general xray skills during placements. Next year, I hope to be apart of a team of dedicated radiographers in a supportive imaging department that will provide the opportunity for me to further develop my skills and broaden my knowledge in the field.
