My passion lies in nurturing and uplifting people, spaces and the environment! I have always been enthusiastic about design, community service, spiritual wisdom and sports. Apart from my role as a mother, my life revolves a lot around service initiatives or humanitarian projects for people, animals and the environment. To us, good design is much more than a one-off transaction or a commercial endeavour. We do not look at StudioIgg as a business turning profits but as vehicle to nurture and uplift people, spaces and the environment. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing the smiles and serene faces of people who interact with the spaces that I have created from the sincere devotion of my heart and soul. Profits from StudioIgg go to community service projects. For example, we sponsored an intuition programme for 500 blind children across visually handicapped schools in India. Our objective is to reach out to a total of 1000 blind children in the next 2 years. For the past 7 years, we have been collecting more than 20,000 pre-loved story and wisdom books in Singapore and shared them with over 25 school libraries in India and a hostel library in Singapore. We also sponsored painting and cleaning equipment for the homes of elderly residents in Singapore. We sponsored tuition and hostel fees for students in schools, engineering colleges and competitive exams in India. We sponsored mindfulness classes for 25 adults who suffered from anxiety during Covid-19 in 2020. We provided meals for displaced people in India during Covid-19. We distributed eco-friendly sanitary napkins and conducted awareness campaigns on menstrual hygiene for 500 village girls in collaboration with the Art of Living Foundation in India.
