Assistant Operations Manager
Current- Building and maintaining relationships with carriers (freight companies, transporters) to ensure reliable service and negotiate rates.- Negotiating contracts with carriers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements.- Planning and optimizing transportation routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs, taking into account factors like distance, traffic, and delivery schedules.- Monitoring carrier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, freight damage rates, and customer satisfaction.- Handling issues such as delays, damages, and other logistics-related problems swiftly and effectively to minimize disruption to operations.- Managing transportation costs within budgetary constraints by analyzing expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing appropriate measures.- Ensuring compliance with transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards, including permits and licenses required for transportation operations.- Analyzing transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in carrier management processes.- Coordinating with other teams such as procurement, warehouse operations, and customer service to ensure smooth logistics operations and customer satisfaction.- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives in carrier management processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.- Generating reports on carrier performance, transportation costs, and other relevant metrics for management review and decision-making.- Training and developing team members in carrier management procedures, best practices, and industry standards.
