👋 Hello dear reader, pleased to meet you!I aim to illuminate biological complexity through lucid science communication. As a patient and caregiver with multiple chronic illnesses, I have learned how to “edutain through the pain.”My desire to give patients a refund on lost time through systems biology research and precision medicine led me to found Timeless Biosciences. I believe that discovery without dissemination is meaningless.Having spent most of my life dealing with complex chronic conditions, I am intimately familiar with how debilitating dynamic disabilities can be. My current projects include:📌 Developing mechanistic models of complex chronic conditions like EDS, MCAS, and dysautonomia📌 Building a health education platform aimed at providing solutions, resources, and support for patients and providers📌 A newsletter and podcast dedicated to advancing scientific literacy on topics like healthy longevity, disease prevention, and biotech developments📌 Speaking and consulting on healthcare topics relating to chronic disease research, patient advocacy, gut microbiome, precision medicine, nutrition, metabolism, and systems biologyMy research interests include diabetes, obesity, cancer, energy metabolism, metabolic syndrome, mitochondria, FMT, longevity, neurodegeneration, circadian rhythms, multiomics, and molecular aging clocks.🧬 While working as Chief of Staff at a biotech startup focused on infant and maternal gut health, I identified microbiome signatures specific to gestational diabetes, asthma, eczema, and allergies.🔬During my time as a research assistant at the University of Georgia, I developed peptide inhibitors designed to block specific interactions involved in breast cancer signaling transduction.🦠 As part of my patient advocacy efforts, I served on the community advisory board for the ACTIV-4c Post-Hospital Thrombosis Prevention Study, a multi-center COVID-19 clinical trial conducted by Duke University as part of Operation Warp Speed.I currently serve on the NIH’s RECOVER-VITAL trial and Emory's REVERSE-LC trial investigating potential treatments for Long COVID.I’m passionate about consilience, minimalism, autodidacticism, science communication, music, trivia, and polymathy.
