My research interests are on social epidemiological research that focus on seeking understanding the ways in which social, psychological, educational, cultural, and economic circumstances in children influence pathways to a healthy life. My current research areas include:• School readiness and school drop-out as a determinant of health and precursor to health disparities• Relationship between education and morbidity, mortality, and health conditions that are unique or more prevalent in racial and ethnic minorities• Social determinants of mental health disparities among children• The impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on health across the lifespan• Neighborhood and social capital as determinants of health
