Intelligent Dynamic Energy & Sensing Systems (IDEAS) Lab:> Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting from Heartbeat Vibrations for Leadless Pacemakers- Developed a novel piezoelectric energy harvester to replace the batteries inside power implantable biomedical devices by generating electricity from low frequency excitation- Tested thermally buckled piezoelectric prototypes on closed-loop shaker using heartbeat waveforms to perform power-resistance experiments and plotted their relative velocities, voltage FRFs and mode shapes of vibration> Nonlinear Resonance through Tuning of Natural Frequencies for Ocean-Wave Energy Harvesting- Constructed a miniature ship model enclosing a rotating pendulum to generate electrical power by utilizing nonlinear resonance phenomenon between their pitch and roll motions - Tuned the pitch and roll frequencies by modifying weight distribution of the model for different water wave excitation frequencies during flume testing to produce maximum power output from DC motor

Human - Centered Robotics Lab:> Wearable Adaptive Gait Characterization System- Designed and developed a wearable MEMS device enabling real time analysis of critical gait parameters while adapting to the walking pattern of the subject and develop corrective measures for gait deficits- Acquired and analysed sensor data involving basic walking patterns and performed data processing, dataset building and gait segmentation to evaluate performances of the samples
