Project InternL&T Medical Equipment & Systems Jan 2012 - Apr 2012Mysuru Area, IndiaWorked as an intern in the Quality Assurance Department of L&T Medical Equipment & Systems in a project to develop a test jig to automate the test and validation of newer models of Patient Monitor Systems. Prior to our solution, the certification of a new PMS would require 60 man days to manually go through a series of tests and certifications. Our test jig successfully reduced this time to 15 days.The solution used a huge patient physiological parameter dataset from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and used equipment from National Instruments to synthesize analog signals as per the dataset. After using existing calibrated devices for thoroughly confirming that the generated signals were indeed matching the numbers from the dataset, the signals were then fed to the new model of Patient monitoring systems which needed to undergo certification. The programming was done using National Instruments LabVIEW platform. -
