Based in Mumbai, Nitin Raheja spearheads the Discretionary Management Business at Julius Baer India. He oversaw the business from its inception by launching and overseeing the Portfolio Management Services and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) business for the company in India for its onshore clients. He also acts as the India advisor for the Julius Baer Equity India Fund a Dublin based UCIT’s fund, which provides access for global clients of Julius Baer to invest into the Indian markets. Collectively Nitin along with his team manages and advises an AUM in excess of USD 500 million. In this role, he is instrumental in establishing and expanding the bank’s equities investments business. Before joining Julius Baer, Nitin founded AQF Advisors, an investment advisory firm specialising in advising a few offshore funds on their India investment strategy. He was also managing a successful Portfolio Management Service (PMS) for a local brokerage outfit over a span of over nine years. The PMS during period delivered consistent top quartile returns during this period. He had also simultaneously founded Optionalysis Pvt Ltd a quant trading outfit which besides running prop trading strategies also worked closely with the BSE to help them grow their currency options business. His impressive career also includes serving as Chief Investment Officer at Dawnay Day AV Financial Services for their PMS business, prior to that he was the Fund Manager at Sun F&C Asset Management managing the Balanced Fund, Emerging Technologies Fund and Personal Tax Saver Fund. Additionally, he has led the India Family Office for a prominent Non-Resident Indian group prior to which he began his career as a Research Analyst at Enam Securities, a leading stockbroking and investment banking firm.Nitin holds a Master’s degree in Management studies (MMS) with a specialization in Finance from the Welingkar Institute of Management Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in commerce from Mumbai University. Outside of work, Nitin is passionate about singing and has trained in light Indian classical music besides which he enjoys off-roading trips in the mountains in his free time.
