About Nitin Ram
My expertise is to build advanced optical microscopes to visualize biomolecular and cellular processes to address curiosity-driven biological problems that would provide vital insights for translational medicine. During my PhD research I developed functionalized fluorescent probes for studying bio-nano interactions in living organisms to aid targeted drug delivery. My current research is directed towards the development and application of super resolution microscopy- STORM /PALM to study molecular biophysics of intracellular transport. My career plan is to establish a multidisciplinary research group that will embark on super resolution microscopy and advanced molecular biology techniques to unravel the molecular mechanisms and cellular dynamics associated to nutrient sensing and dysregulations leading to diseases and in collaboration with medical researchers, translate the findings to diagnosis and treatments of associated diseases.
