Foreign Currency Transactions Settlement System:● Re-architecting a legacy system using messaging based architecture and technologies such as Java, J2EE, Python, JMS, IBM WebSphere MQ, RESTful Microservice, Spring Boot, Spring, Hibernate, and JPA.● Over three million transactions in eighteen currencies are settled daily totaling over 7 trillion dollars.● Led the implementation of five ‘Payments’ related components to manage payins, payouts and reconciliation reports supporting a variety of message formats such as SWIFT, FEDWIRE and SIC.● Implemented common framework code such as thread-safe caching, crash buffer, virtual time, primitives for financial calculations, messaging utilities, configurable format converters, etc. to enforce consistent and efficient code across components.● Instrumental in designing an approach for parallel testing (A/B testing) and incremental migration of the legacy system to the new system through various project stages.Operational and Deployment Scripts (DevOps):● Led development of operational scripts, written in Python, to deploy components, manage their configurations, start/stop instances and configure WebSphere MQ. Replaced hard to maintain shell scripts with configurable python scripts. ● Made it easy to manage configuration for 25+ components and 100+ messaging queues that comprise the settlement system. General:● Led the code quality initiative. Ensured better software engineering practices to improve code quality through design and code reviews. ● POC based on log analytics for a large scale enterprise application using Splunk, AWS, PCF, and Kafka.
