Caspian invests in enterprises that address the problems of access and efficiency in business ecosystems that have a positive social or environmental impact. Lead the data science team where the role involves setting up data management processes, automating systems, risk modelling and communicating insights to senior management. Automated the provisioning model that includes calculating PD, LGD and EAD which would calculate the final expected credit loss amount, included scenario based factors to account for the COVID pandemic. Built a pricing model that would recommend interest for new loans, historical default data along with data obtained from the clients across the dimensions of Governance and Management, Business and Operations, Process and systems and Financial performance. Used a combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques for the same. Liaison with external data partners and consultant/s to get support on data or build risk models.

 Developed a framework for monitoring external risk for the impact portfolio and identified independent data sources and proxies for external risk surveillance.  Improved the effectiveness of risk management reports by developing Excel macro-based tools to aggregate and analyze risk management data. Analyzed the due diligence tool currently used in the company to see if it is a significant predictor of loan defaults using logistic regression, recommended data points that could be dropped from the tool based on the analysis.

 Member of the Energy access vertical, responsibilities included annual planning and budgeting. Coordinated between the energy access teams across 5 different regions – Karnataka and Tamilnadu, Orissa, The North East, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.  Ecosystem Development: Part of a multi-stakeholder assessment, project planning and implementation for energy access projects in the remote areas of North Karnataka (Bidar and Bijapur) and Tamil Nadu (Nilgiris and Sittlingi).
