Research assistant with Northeastern University’s Dr. Brennan Klein. We have completed a paper on our research, in which I am a co-author. The paper is under peer review. Our research focuses on how the US states passed resolutions during the 2020 COVID lockdown to release certain inmates from their correction facilities, and how there may be a racial bias against non-white prisoners. and prisons based on criteria that they deemed appropriate. However, we found there was a bias in how the criteria were defined to release prisoners which had a potential negative on impact on non-white prisoners. Data from various sources was collected and analyzed using Python and other data modeling tools.

Sustainable Practices is a non-profit based in Cape Cod dedicated to banning plastic water bottle use in the area. I work with founder and director Prof. Madhavi Venkatesan Northeastern University in the area of Sustainable Economics. As part of my research, I created life cycles for parts of disposable paper coffee cups, reusable cups and entire plastic bottles. I provided my conclusions on environmental effects from extraction of materials to disposal of items. These conclusions are being reviewed with a partner company for further communication. I selected relevant documentaries for public viewing to raise funds for the organization. I am currently working on reaching out to Senators and Representatives to ban single-use plastics in their respective regions.

Co-Founded a peer-to-peer tutoring platform through TYE, an entrepreneurship incubator. We have 2500 students and 700 tutors. Tutors are students who teach peers in exchange for community service hours. We qualified for the TYE Global Competition, where we finished as one of the top 8 finalists. I am in charge of company finances and lead outreaches to other nonprofits.

Researching under Prof. Samuel Scarpino at Northeastern University. Our research centers on why diseases passed by bed bugs are becoming more prevalent, studying possible connections due to a warming climate, and why bed bugs have a greater capacity to transmit certain diseases. My research includes examining journal articles on past studies, gathering data, investigating other experiments on bed bugs, and examining how/if certain parasites and viruses remain and transmit more frequently in bed bugs.
