Working in consulting, research and capacity building in the Urban Renewal and Revitalization vertical at NIUM, which focuses on:- Sustainable Heritage Management: Adaptive reuse projects to reactivate less-used heritage sites- Community Engagement: Planning events for engagement and capacity building, including those under the Charminar Urban Renewal Project, being implemented in collaboration with Think City, a Malaysian NGO.- Heritage Awareness and Knowledge Sharing: Working to improve processes and development of the Uniquely Telangana website for engaging the stakeholders with cultural heritage and encouraging knowledge sharing for open-source data.

The Walled City of Jaipur, now on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, presents a unique example of a medieval Indian city with a grid-iron plan, influenced by various design philosophies and built in the 18th century. As a part of the Heritage Cell constituted for the efficient management of the site, I am involved in the preparation of a Special Area Heritage Plan for its conservation, planning and development. My role also involves preparing architectural control guidelines, urban toolkits, bye-laws and guidelines, and monitoring the existing condition of heritage attributes as well as modern projects being undertaken in this area.

A project involving urban planning, place-making and mobility design is being carried out for the redevelopment of Puri, a temple town. My role in the project included incorporating cultural and built heritage conservation into this large-scale project.I prepared an inventory and report stating significance and role of various historic structures like temples and Mathas (monasteries) around the Jagannath Temple, aided by site visits and coordination with various heritage consultants, temple information officers, Matha Mahantas, etc. I also collaborated with experts to develop guidelines and a toolkit for urban development and conservation.

The Aga Khan Trust for Culture facilitates a number of cultural and heritage conservation projects in developing countries. I was involved in a conservation and landscape restoration project at the Qutb Shahi Heritage Park, on the tentative list for a UNESCO World Heritage nomination. Spread over 108 acres, it is one of the largest and most significant necropolises in the world, including 40 tombs, 20 mosques, an Idgah, 6 Baolis (stepwells), a hamam (bath), enclosure walls and archaeological remains of a settlement.My role included supervising on-site conservation work by master craftsmen and masons - involving removal of modern materials, authentic replication and restoration of ornamental details, structural interventions, restoring original lime mortar and plaster, and other repairs in stone and timber.I was involved in carrying out detailed architectural documentation and condition assessment of the monuments including compiling detailed archival records of historical images and literature, drone photogrammetry and digitisation, 3D laser scanning, total station surveying, manual drafting and CAD drawings. I manually traced and created detailed CAD drawings of intricate decorative plaster work, and the patterns and condition of the mosaic tile work.I coordinated with various consultants and partners, including constant communication with landscape consultants to survey existing site condition and supervised the implementation of the resulting landscape plan covering over 100 acres. I also conducted guided tours and assisted with preparing exhibits and reports to engage the local community, documents requesting grants, progress reports for sponsors and a detailed inventory of architectural description and conservation work for over 100 structures in the project.

Sangath houses a multi-disciplinary practice founded by 2018 Pritzker Prize Laureate, Dr. BV Doshi. I worked primarily with the urban design team on presentations and reports to the local governing bodies and the community, design proposals, 3D-modelling, graphics and model making for urban design projects including the development of transport oriented zone based around the proposed Ahmedabad Metro, pilot project for the Ahmedabad Street Development Strategy and recreational public space design including the Vastrapur lake and areas in the proposed Residential Affordable Housing zone in Ahmedabad.I assisted with entries for architecture competitions for the Guggenheim museum in Helsinki, Finland and the Maharaja Ranjitsinh Institute of Design in Vadodara with urban research and contextual planning, 3D modelling, rendering, presentation graphics and model making. I also assisted with model making and drafting of architectural details for institutional design projects - IIM campus in Udaipur, Nalanda University in Rajgir and Raksha Shakti University in Ahmedabad.
