About Nitye Sood
Nitye is a natural history cinematographer, filmmaker and National Geographic Explorer. Nitye co-founded Untamed Planet - an award-winning production company based between India and New York city, focused on producing films about the natural world for global broadcast. He brings his visual aesthetic and technical expertise to the documentaries he films and produces - specialising in capturing immersive animal behaviour, drone operation and time-lapse photography. Nitye’s work has taken him across the world filming in challenging and often hostile circumstances, working with charismatic species such as king cobras, tiger sharks, black bears, rhinos, elephants, asiatic lions, tigers and more. His credits include films on National Geographic, BBC, Netflix, Warner Bros, Animal Planet, Smithsonian and Al Jazeera. Driven by his love for the outdoors and his passion for innovations in conservation and sustainable technologies, Nitye seeks to create films that inspire. Nitye has filmed and produced documentaries that have won at the prestigious Jackson Wild Media awards, been nominated at the Green Oscars and won awards globally. He was recently part of the crew on the Academy Award nominated short film Elephant Whisperers, and worked as an AD on the Academy Award nominated independent film ‘Court’.
