We led the way in the SPA industry in Mauritius, with Surya SPA being inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr. Hon Navinchandra Ramgoolam in November 2005. Mrs. Nivedita R Nathoo received the Most Outstanding Young Person of the Year Award in 2007 for her significant contributions to the Wellness Sector. Surya SPA also received the Laurier D'Or from the International Federation of Tourism. Furthermore, Mrs. Nathoo was chosen to participate in the esteemed Africa Women Entrepreneurship Program, sponsored by the United States State Department.

Mrs. Nathoo actively pursued collaboration, seeking both technical and financial support from UNDP and the EU to establish the inaugural incubators for women entrepreneurs in Mauritius. Additionally, she skillfully negotiated for dedicated spaces within hotels, allowing women artisans to directly showcase and sell their products to customers, bypassing intermediaries.
