Tesla -Cell Engineering is the R&D division of Tesla primarily working on the battery materials, battery safety and Upstream Material processing.My work at Tesla was primarily on Battery recycling and Upstream material Processing.During this time I worked on Upstream Material processing and Recycling of Battery Materials -Developed and optimized Electro-dissolution of Nickel for battery-grade cathode material -Achieved 85% extraction of Ni and Co by chemical separation to battery recycling operations-Achieved 83% separation of Ni and Cu by ion-exchange that reduced the load to 80% on precursor processing-Utilized ICP-OES to characterize metal concentration and hence the Solution and Material properties -Developed and optimized NiSO4 solution production from Briquettes and Nuggets by electrodissolution to obtain>90% electrical efficiency
