About Jon-Michael Cucinotta

Wise men say that it is not the strongest, nor the smartest, that survive. It is the one who can adapt to change and embrace failure.Fishing is a passion of mine and has taught me the great virtue of patience, but in such a dynamic world you must be able to adjust. Working with technology has given me the best of both worlds; the polar opposite of sitting and waiting for a bite. It’s something you must take head on and try and learn quickly, yet thoroughly.I had been self-taught most of my life when it came to computers and technology, but never thought too much of it at the time as I was a young, naïve gamer. The most frustrating thing about it was when I couldn’t figure something out and I knew I had to make that dreaded phone call. That one where you’re on the phone with some other tech-savvy individual asking you the question, us IT people joke about, “Did you try turning it OFF and back ON?” I guess, in a way, not wanting to ever make those phone calls was one of those key influences that lead me down the way of the Nerd. I tried my hand at running my own tech business, which was awesome (of course, making my own hours)… But it wasn’t until my senior year of college, when I could throw away my kitchen apron (former employment at restaurants) and finally get my foot in the door within the tech industry. Don’t get me wrong, I know my way around a fork (lol), but putting my Computer Science & Information Systems degree to work was a true blessing. I’m able to surround myself with other nerds, who have similar passions and share knowledge. I was also able to teach myself the Python programming language and ever since I've been trying to find creative ways to automate, not only job tasks, but in general. I truly believe automation is future. They say, ‘do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life’ and for me, this is it. As the captain of my own ship, I am forever grateful to have dropped anchors in IT and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
