- Programming since 1994 (demoscene roots).- Professionally programming since 2003 (full-time); videogames (incl. triple A titles/console releases), audio synthesis, spatial audio solutions (for ex. bespoke Wwise plug-ins) for videogames, digital broadcasting software (full stack).- Firm grasp and proven knowledge of platforms beyond PC or MAC (videogame consoles, embedded platforms) and ample experience working with tight hardware-imposed restrictions.- A keen eye for low-level debugging as well as details (such as those needed to prepare a videogame for technical certification).- Experience working with and on proprietary multi-platform 'game engines' as well as expanding/modifying existing middleware (UE, Unity).- I'd like to believe that after all these years I'm very solid at C/C++ (C# I haven't used all that much but is in my wheelhouse), shader languages of different types; I get along with tools like Python and other scripting languages just fine.- Experience using (Google) Cloud solutions (including writing and deploying programs in Go), mostly for continously integrated performance statistics for videogame performance. - Coming from the 'old' (by now) days I understand low-level concepts, including analysing, debugging and writing/optimizing assembly languages; x86/x64 being the one I'm most experienced with.- I have some flair for 'artistic' graphics programming.- Solid grasp of 3D/DSP math concepts (proven through both products and open-source projects), though at time of writing I guess it could use a little brushup!- Proven stint (though it's not my favourite position to be in) as lead programmer for a PC to console porting project.- SIMD/vectorization & non-stupid threading.Self-taught (and taught by peers); also eager to share knowledge without carrying my ego into the equation, though sure, every now and then I do like to stir things up a little!Bottom line: I didn't start and still don't code as a conscious choice just to have a career, that has been a side-effect of a passion that got hold of me as a very early teenager. I pursue a few other subjects likewise.
