Syria

Developed context-specific and a relevant programming strategy for the Syria and Turkey mission's and ensure the funding of its roll-out via oversight of the Project Development Unit, in order to sustainably raise the mission's profile and credibility in its operational areas and within the aid system. Ensured solid Assessment, Monitoring, and Evaluation (AME) systems and mechanisms are implemented and are in line with the organization's global AME procedures and deliver effective research/outputs in a way to inform timely decision making and the adoption of sound corrective measures. Ensured project activities are technically coordinated and supported, coherent implementation modalities, tools, and methodologies are defined, and the technical capacity of project staff is built. Raised the mission's profile and credibility with external stakeholders by communicating a positive image of the mission's activities and engagements in the country. Facilitated the creation of an enabling and productive working environment through internal communication and coordination.

Yemen

Developed a country profile for Yemen highlighting the risks, opportunities, key contacts, and strategic recommendations for how to establish Proximity International as an organization that offers third-party monitoring and research services to donors, INGOs, and other interested clients.

Sana‘A, Yemen

Provided strategic vision for the programmatic agenda of the country office during an L3 humanitarian crisis. In response to the cholera outbreak in late 2016, managed the importation, distribution, and monitoring of 21 metric tons of medical supplies, medicines, and cholera treatment supplies.Acted as the primary focal point for WRG's Yemen related advocacy work among various diplomatic, political, and donor actors in the USA, Germany, and Jordan.Along with a team of dedicated staff, wrote and submitted successful proposals for the WHO, UN OCHA, UNDP, Tearfund UK & Ireland, and Australian Embassy, and oversaw their implementation until completion.Managed operations and program support departments including finance, logistics, security, procurement, human resources, and administration.Established and chaired a monthly round table discussion/exchange between the German Ambassador to Yemen and INGO heads and representatives in Amman, Jordan. Key topics and themes of discussion relate to the political and humanitarian developments within the ongoing conflict in Yemen. Directly liaised and coordinated with key humanitarian offices and actors in the INGO community as an INGO Forum Steering Committee Deputy Chair (March-July 2016), NGO Co-Chair, UN OCHA Health Cluster (April-December 2015).Maintained the organization's key relationships with the Yemeni Government including, but not limited to, the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, Ministry of Public Health and Cooperation, the Office of the Presidential Authority, and the Office of the Prime Minister (in addition to other significant non-state actors).As interim Country Representative for WRG’s Jordan country office, managed the initial registration and establishment of a principle agreement with the Ministry of Social Development, established its first office space, and supported its initial child protection (child-friendly spaces) programming in Jordan.

Managed the Family Support Unit which included the humanitarian assistance team, youth program, and childhood education programs.Planned and implemented programs and activities within the vision and mission of the Family Support unit including contributing to the preparation of funding proposals.Provided accountability and management for the financial, monitoring, and evaluation systems for all departmental affairs under my supervision.

Cairo, Egypt

In cooperation with senior leaders at All Saints Cathedral, and during the post-revolutionary (Arab Spring) days in Cairo, established the framework and mission of the centre.Developed, managed, and implemented the centre’s programmatic agenda with a special focus on championing peace-building efforts, promoting tolerance, and addressing the chronic challenges ofsexism in society through art, music, cultural, and educational activities.Created a sustainable institutional platform by establishing a governing body with a diverse leadership team, a team of program managers, and recruited a cohort of volunteers to implement the centre’s programming agenda.

Implemented all phases of investigative case management on referrals of child abuse.Provided ongoing management for up to 20 cases at a time where child abuse was substantiated. This included the coordination of support services for guardians and families to help ensure a safe environment for at-risk children. Worked with families and local stakeholders to develop strategies, and obtain resources, that would ultimately lead towards the mitigation of future risks of abuse while supporting processes that would lead to rehabilitation and the restoration of families.
