PharmAccess Foundation is an international NGO dedicated to facilitating affordable access to quality health care in Africa by stimulating investments in the healthcare industry through partnerships with the private sector and government institutions. PharmAccess activities include demand side financing through insurance, providing technical assistance to State Government with the objective to achieve Universal Health Coverage; supply side quality improvement using our ISQua accredited SafeCare© Methodology to enable healthcare organisations institutionalise quality; access to finance for healthcare SMEs through our Medical Credit Fund, MCF provides loans to healthcare SMEs in the private sector, enabling them to improve the quality of their services, develop their business potential and service more patients. PharmAccess also has a digital agenda, developing innovative digital solutions to enable seamless access and improvement in health outcomes such as our HealthConnect App to leverage international remittance for health, our Quality Improvement tool (QIT), Multi system Poverty Screening tool (MPS), Mobile App for TB Screening (MATS) and collaboration with CarePay digital insurance platform using the mobile phone to aggregate funding and payment for healthcare services.

For the first time, a joint The Lancet & Financial Times Commission entitled Growing up in a digital world: Governing health futures 2030 is exploring the convergence of digital health, artificial intelligence (AI) and other frontier technologies with universal health coverage (UHC) to support attainment of the third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). In particular, this Commission will:1. Strive for integrated digital development that improves the health and well-being of children and young people in an ever more digital world.2. Examine existing policies for digital health, AI and UHC to identify those with the greatest potential to improve health and well-being, maximise health equity in resource-poor settings and ensure human rights.3. Deliver a clear set of recommendations on the governance of digital health, AI and UHC, taking into account geopolitical, economic and social factors.

The Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN) is an umbrella body representing a coalition of Nigerian private healthcare sector stakeholders. The Nigeria Health Excellence Award is designed to celebrate distinguished personalities and organizations who have contributed immensely to the growth of the Nigerian health sector.NHEA’s recognition aims to stimulate quality improvement, investment and innovation in the Nigerian health sector leading to improved service delivery and better health outcomes for all Nigerians.

The Society for Quality in Healthcare in Nigeria is a not-for-profit organization with multi-disciplinary roles incorporated in 2006 to promote healthcare quality improvement in Nigeria. The objective is to bring about a wider understanding of quality in healthcare, improving patient outcomes and reducing delivery costs. The Society's activities are aimed at building capacity in the healthcare industry in Nigeria, and facilitating alliances with international healthcare quality organizations towards improvement in healthcare quality. Efficient running of the Society Secretariat was Njide's primary responsibility. She was also a member of the Society’s Programmes Committee responsible for organizing conferences, workshops and seminars. To date since commencement of activities in 2009, 3 annual conferences and 5 seminars have been organized with over 800 participants from various healthcare organisations and hospitals in Nigeria.

Lionstone Healthcare Partners focuses on Healthcare Information technology, With a specialized competency in Health Maintenance Organizations Information Technology and Hospital Information Management Systems, Lionstone Healthcare Partners offers consultancy services to stakeholders in the healthcare industry across Africa, facilitating seamless access to healthcare services towards process improvement, service efficiency and cost reduction.Examples of some recently concluded projects:1. Developed the SmartHealth technology business plan for InterSwitch Nigeria Limited. The recently launched SmartHealth initiative aims to create a shared technology platform for the healthcare industry, including HMOs, healthcare providers, patients and regulators, to enable seamless, transparent healthcare transactions and access to care.2. Technology needs assessment for Shell supported Obio Cottage Clinic in Port Harcourt to determine technology requirement that will enable seamless operations for the community based health insurance scheme.3. Hygeia Community Health Care provides subsidized health insurance to low income communities in Nigeria and is a subsidiary of Hygeia Nigeria Limited, an integrated Healthcare and Hospital Management Group. Responsibilities included • Programme Management including financial management, quality management of medical services, client management and outcomes reporting• Liaison with Dutch donors, programme partners and Government regulators• New business development and advocacy• Corporate communications

Njide was the Chief Operating Officer for Hygeia HMO, the largest HMO in Nigeria, responsible for strategic oversight and management of business processes and operations, including membership and enrolment, claims processing, provider services, quality management, worksite clinics, Information Technology and database administration, HIV/AIDS and preventive units in regional offices. She was also responsible for continuous process audits and streamlining of operations through the use of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure efficiency and uniformity in operation. Leveraging on her prior experiences and educational background, she coordinated the redesign and redevelopment of the Information Management System used to manage all business processes. She was also involved in client and provider relationship management.

CIGNA Healthcare is one of the largest Health Insurance companies in the United States whose mission is to help the people they serve improve their health, well-being, and sense of security. Their services focus on managed medical, pharmacy and dental care services, including integrated indemnity and group life and health insurance for employees that is primarily offered through their employer. As a Regional Director in the Houston Texas office, responsibilities included • Quality audits of claims systems, provider data management and operations, and other upstream/downstream applications pertaining to provider data setup to ensure auto adjudication• Audit tool development, approaches, methodologies, and reporting standards for regional provider operations • Project management of special projects such as hospital network expansion and service provider payment leakage

AmeriHealth HMO of Texas was a subsidiary of Independence Blue Cross of Philadelphia set up as a for profit veture to offer health insurance in the state of Texas, including the Texas medicaid program (TEXAS STAR) program. As a foundation staff of the company, Njide was instrumental in the start up of the company and responsibilities included: • Developing and documenting business requirements, conceptual design and analysis, review functional specifications, test scenarios as required.• Repository for provider contracts, terms and risk arrangements in reimbursement systems.• Involved in rate negotiation to provide guidance on rate implementation feasibility • Involved in utilization data analysis towards benefit package development.• Developed algorithms for hierarchical reimbursements and claims payment based on multiple provider contracts and rates

For more than 70 years, Independence Blue Cross (IBC) has offered quality health care products and services designed specifically to meet the changing health care needs of customers. IBC is a leading health insurer in southeastern Pennsylvania with 2.4 million members in the local area and provide coverage to nearly 3.3 million people together with its subsidiaries. IBC employs about 5,590 people and annually process nearly 26 million medical claims.Njide started her Health Insurance Career with IBC and trained through all the business units as a foundation for her role as Network Data Analyst. Her responsibilities included design of several applications and databases to track and generate data used for provider profiling, complaints analysis and network improvement.
