About Neil Mercer

I have a passion for user experience, digital design, technology and I am a very proud Founder of Mòr. Mòr help companies grow - in one case over 6X growth. We also help companies improve processes - including a 50% increase in productivity with a leading insurer.We love making digital experiences better for people, so they buy more, do more or just enjoy the digital experience more.Our one core principle is: "We simplify and improve experiences so people have more quality time". This principle is reflected in everything we do. From mapping out ideal end to end customer experiences, to building websites applications and products. We work with finance companies including RAC & Silva International. We work in the leisure sector where we are transforming one of Spain's quickest growing gym chains, Synergym, with a service design, design and build project.     This was an exciting and challenging role working with teams in Europe, India and South East Asia. My team had a dual purpose - one was to create a user centred digital interface for insurance distribution channels. The second was to create a digital / user experience COE in Bangalore. We managed to make a digital solution that worked across brands, channels and back end insurance systems. We did this by going through multiple rounds of user testing, including validation from Neilson, and a massive simplification process. I remember being told at one point the interface was too simple and didn't have enough 'features'. This was from a senior member of the team rather than an end user. I think it was when the system was independently tested with Neilson as well as running our own tests the team saw the value of user centred design and how usability should be at the core of all systems from day one. I worked with some great people and a keen team. We soon hired some local digital talent, ran workshops an really pushed to try and move to a user first customer first culture. This is a slow change process but it is something we are proud of.
