Brookshire's is Texas based grocery store and pharmacy that is also located in Louisiana and Arkansas. My responsibilities are to verify prescriptions being sold to customers, cashier, adhere to state and federal laws and guidelines for specific types of medications, contact customers regarding their prescriptions, check in medication and prescription deliveries, filing, assist customers with questions or concerns and receive new prescriptions from customers.

Rite Aid is a drug store chain that offers a variety of convieniences to customers. Customers shopping at Rite Aid can call in and pick up prescriptions, purchase money orders, complete Western Union transactions, make copies of their personal photo's, purchase passport photos, enjoy an ice cream cone or purchase a variety of other products. I was responsible for managing front-end operations, completed all cash handling responsibilities including cashier duties. Identified store challenges and opportunities and provided suggestions for improvement, provided exceptional customer service and resolved issues immediately, communicated store policies and procedures to customers, documented personnel issues and addressed issues with Store Manager, provided coaching and training to cashiers. Completed opening and closing procedures including running reports and nightly deposits, completed floor work, set and pulled weekly advertisements, store recovery, DSD receiving, inventory preparation, ensured sufficient cashiers during peak periods, responsible for planning and delegating student employee’s workloads, assigned tasks to cashiers during slow periods and assisted with loss prevention. Developed strong working relationships with employees and customers, completed stocking and merchandising tasks, demonstrated upselling methods to cashiers, monitored and addressed store cleanliness and organization of backroom.

Grocery Outlet is an independently owned grocery store with over 300 stores located throughout California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Idaho and are considered the nation's largest grocery extreme value retailer. I was responsible for making sure that the store operated smoothly and well maintained, customers received exceptional service and projects completed. With the cooperation of the store owners, I developed the first employee recognition program for the store, took opportunities to increase sales and our customer base by suggestive selling and developing relationships with new and existing customers. Responsible for managing front-end operations and store operations in the owner’s absence. Completed all cash handling responsibilities including cashier duties, immediately responded to cashier requests for assistance. Monitored customer flow to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods and assigned tasks during slow periods, completed employee follow up. Sealed With a Kiss (SWAK) is an upscale clothing store that carries a large variety of trendy ladies clothing, shoes and a variety of accessories. I greeted customers, assisted customers requesting to try clothes and shoes on while providing them with additional options, increased ladies shoe sales by 25%. Completed cashier functions, obtained e-mails from new customers for the mailing list, completed store recovery, straightened clothing racks, dressed mannequins, priced and prepared new clothing lines, cleaned and secured the store at closing.

I performed thorough cleaning of interior and exterior of foreclosed homes including lawn care. Collected and removed the debris left by homeowners, photographed properties for submittal and hung signage on properties.

The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) is the nation's largest public pension system. I was a subject matter expert (SME) for service credit, the expert for department wide projects and an expert on administrative/appeal cases. I managed individual units throughout the department while developing employees and increasing unit productivity. I was an employee recognition advocate and the expert in emotional intelligence. I worked on a variety of departmental IT projects in the capacity of a Business Analyst while developing my project management skills and knowledge. In addition to managing workloads in my units, I developed my skills in research, analyzing cases especially high profile and sensitive cases, developed the quality assurance process and procedures for the section, identified staffing and training needs, completed the interview and hiring processes, completed probabtion reports and annual appraisals on staff, created positive work environments for staff, identified opportunities for improvement in processes then implemented the improvements, developed staff's knowledge and skills in project management.
