Key achievments - • Removed defects in the complex water jacket geometry and preprocessed it to make it ready for accurate simulations• Performed CFD simulations of engine water jackets using Converge for various steady state conditions to obtain a database of pressure losses and heat transfer over the engine’s operating range.• Calibrated the 1-D water jacket model to match the CFD database with a worst accuracy of 90% for any point over the operating range using GT-Suite• Developed models of EGR Cooler, Turbo Cooler, Exhaust Injector cooler and Cabin Heater based on first principles, in order to overcome the lack of testing data.• Performed sanity check on test data obtained from suppliers to ensure a good input to the developed modelsKey skills acquired- GT-Suite, Converge, CFD and thermal analysis
