After 3 years in Patient Safety, I moved into Risk Management, gaining a broader view of how these areas work together for both the good of the patient and the good of the organization. After my year teaching and working part-time at Wildwood, I decided to pursue a full-time nursing position. I began working as a staff nurse on Toledo Hospital's 19-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, and after a year I became the unit supervisor. In this position, I led 30 staff members, coordinating high quality, safe, effective patient care, ensuring all.

During the same year I worked as an instructor for Owens Community College, I also worked part-time as an RN on the inpatient unit at Wildwood, where the focus is orthopedic surgeries, including knee and hip replacements, spine surgery, shoulder surgery, etc.

I have always loved teaching, and I was excited to spend a year working as a clinical instructor for one of our local nursing schools. At Owens, I provided on-site clinical instruction and performance feedback for students in the RN program in the following two courses: - Basic Nursing Skills (on a hospital med-surg unit) - Psychiatric & Mental Health.

Rossford OE Fabrication Plant

I left DaimlerChrysler for a great opportunity with Pilkington North America, at a location closer to home. At the fabrication plant, we produced 40 part numbers at a volume of 1.8 million parts per year, including door glass and backlites for General Motors, and windshields for John Deere tractors. As the Quality Manager, I was the first point of contact.

During my time with DaimlerChrysler, I served in increasingly responsible roles within the supplier-plant division. Each of these positions was a promotion within the organization. Those roles included:- Quality Engineer: Toledo Machining Plant - Working on the plant floor, I performed machine run-offs, verified gages, and conducted statistical process.
