I am a unique professional with healthcare experience in risk management, patient safety, and nursing, preceded by a career of increasingly responsible positions within quality engineering and quality management in the automotive industry. I have a strong background in science and math, and exceptional communication and business writing capabilities. I love learning new concepts, stepping outside of my comfort zone, and reinventing myself in order to stay relevant, bringing my unique skill set to an ever-changing world. It may seem odd to have made the career switch from engineering to nursing, but it was the right move at that time in my life, and for my personality, which seems to be equal parts left-brained and right-brained. My goal-oriented, organized, critical thinking left brain loves math, science, and engineering, while my more empathetic right brain loves the connection with people that nursing provides. These aspects of my personality also make me a generalist as opposed to a specialist - I am always trying to see the bigger picture, the overall view of the system in which multiple areas work together. Ultimately, my recent positions in healthcare patient safety and risk management have brought both of my careers together, allowing me to use my analytical skills while still connecting with others. If you scroll down, you'll see that I've attempted to give you a glimpse of who I am and what I can bring to an organization, not just by using this profile as a resume, but by using it to tell the story of my professional life. On a personal note, I am a sci-fi geek with aspirations to accomplish something that helps move humans closer to the future envisioned by our collective imaginations. I love to follow the work being done by companies such as Virgin Galactic, Ad Astra Rocket Company, and Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, and am a member of The Planetary Society.
