Research project related to Automated Tape Laying (ATL) of thermoplastic composites, in order to obtain the degree of MSc. in Aerospace Engineering, Structures and Materials, at the Delft University of Technology. A grade of 9.0 was awarded to my research. Characterizing a UD tape microstructure utilising the developed microstructural characterization algorithm provided understanding why variations in tacking quality were observed while processing various tape materials. An Influential parameter study, in combination with understanding of the tape material eventually resulted in an increase of tape laying velocity of 43%. My thesis is publicly accessible in the Delft University of Technology repository.

During this internship I was the lead engineer of the Aquilo rocket project at the Inholland Innovation Studio.Internship assignment: how to design, build and test a reliable Aquilo II rocket that is capable of completing a successful mission. Result: In may 2016 Aquilo II was launched and performed a successful mission. This event was realized together with three (engineering) study associations from the Haagse Hogeschool Delft.
