I have written numerous promotional blogs for a variety of companies, both under my own name and as a ghost writer. I also take photos to accompany the blog entries, which have varied in topic from blogs targeting the local brewing market to executive strategy blogs for large software companies. Freelance copywriter for Centurion Boats and Supreme Boats (Correct Craft companies), responsible for print consumer catalog and web site promotional model copy. I have been working with this particular creative team for many years, through multiple companies. I collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager and the Creative Director to develop a unique voice for each product line and deliver copy as needed throughout the year. The bulk of the work is for consumer catalogs, but there are additional requests such as advertising or press release copy, which often come on short notice.

Lead Story Developer responsible for documenting and developing video presentation for Grand Prize winning Hack Ability Eye Gaze. I worked with the story team and video team to capture the essence of our project and deliver a 3 minute video presentation to garner company-wide votes. Team members also tackled social media and promotional materials using still photos and additional video capture. This was a fantastic cross-group project that involved employees from Kinect, Bing, Office, Robotics, Ability and more. The project was inspired by former NFL player and ALS sufferer, Steve Gleason, who wanted more independence now that he can no longer speak or move. Our hack involved multiple aspects of updates and changes, from firmware to keep the Surface always on so that he does not have to turn it off and on; an update to predictive text so that his speech, which is constructed by typing with his eyes, is faster and more natural; and finally enable him to move his wheelchair with his eyes. Each year six Microsoft employees are selected from among dozens of applicants to step away from their existing roles to spend four concentrated months supporting our world-renowned Giving Campaign. In 2013 I had the privilege of participating in this program to facilitate execution of the Campaign, which runs the month of October.I was selected as Lead for this small group, which meant being the point of contact between our Citizenship and Marketing teams and the Loaned Executives. With my expertise in Communications, my area of focus was developing all the communications from our team, from presentations to newsletters, assisting my fellow LEs in polishing and refining their communications, and keeping our 300+ internal contacts updated and informed about the campaign, which runs the month of October. I worked with another LE to set up a new SharePoint 2013 site for both our small team and as a means of communicating with the fellow employees who run the campaign for their organizations. I created and organized OneNote notebooks, sample documents, sample PowerPoint presentations, and responded to questions on Yammer. I composed Executive Report newsletters that went out each week of the campaign. I compiled and edited photos from the campaign and created a video presentation for the final thank you lunch. This project requires concentrated focus, extreme flexibility and the ability to ramp up very quickly. As leaders of the Giving Campaign within the company, we presented to both large and small groups across the company, as well as the company Executive Leadership team. In addition to working within the company, we connected directly more than 20 local non-profits who are highly dependent on the Microsoft Giving Campaign. Our goal was to raise $108 million. We raised more than $111 million.
