I am a co-founder and CEO of nLine, a 16-person, non-venture funded company that is dedicated to improving the performance of critical infrastructure around the world. I would encourage folks reading this to check out our blog! Before nLine I earned my PhD in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley where my thesis explored techniques for measuring power outages that would work well anywhere on earth. This work led to the development of many of the core ideas behind nLine, and our first scale measurements of grid reliability in Accra. For this work I received the 2019-2020 Sevin Rosen Funds Award for Innovation which is awarded annually to graduate students based on outstanding technical achievement in computer sciences or electrical engineering research.I really really like talking about energy issues, sensors, data, deployments, etc... if you want to chat about those things send me a message! I'm also happy to give any advice I can about surviving a PhD :)
