About Nickolas Littlefield

Currently a PhD in Intelligent Systems Program at the University of Pittsburgh. I am an active researcher at the Pitt Health and Explainable AI Research Laboratory (Pitt HexAI) and the Center for Computational Pathology and AI Excellence (CPACE), operating under the mentorship of Dr. Ahmad P. Tafti and Dr. Hooman H. Rashidi. My research primarily targets enhancing the explainability of AI systems mainly in medical image analysis, and building safe, fair, and responsible AI system. I am a participant in both Pitt HexAI and CPACE, where I have already authored 5+ scientific papers and abstracts in top-notch venues, and organized a list of tutorials and summer schools towards open scientific research and education.
