Currently moving from Silver Spring to West Chester, PA,'ve been working in education since 1995 and in the years since have worked at just 2 schools: Thornton Friends School in Silver Spring up until its closing in June of 2009, and The Nora School since that following fall. TFS had 54 students in grades 9-12; Nora has 65. Evidently, I like working in very small high schools.I've taught a wide variety of subjects, most notably English, Photography, Architecture and Peace Studies, and was Principal of Thornton's Upper School for nine years, served briefly as Head of School, and am now Assistant Head at Nora. I love small schools - I love what it asks of me and what we do for adolescents and their families.Before 1995, I worked variously as an architect, carpenter, shoe salesman, sheep farmer, and many other trades.
