Full time teaching position, teaching Writing, Literature and Critical Thinking in small school catering to college-bound alternative learners.

Took over head responsibilities mid-year and guided the closing of the school, ensuring completion of the academic year, fulfillment of all contracts and new placements for students. Worked with various Board members to cancel leases, sell property, vacate campuses, and the many legal and administrative tasks involved with closing a school. During this time I assumed and was responsible for all typical Head's duties and responsibilities for most of one semester until decision to close the school was finalized.

Designed, provided content, analyzed use of and maintained school's web site. Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Lightroom (CS3 and 3-beta), as well as most other office related software.

Concurrent with time as Principal of Upper school. Advised Head on most major school issues, filled in for him when required, helped especially with IT, pedagogical and facilities issues.

Typical duties and responsibilities for Principal of a very small school (54 students in grades 9-12), including (but definitely not limited to) personnel, budget, curriculum, Board relations, parent relations, family counseling, outreach, admissions, teaching, facilities maintenance and discipline. Major accomplishments include shepherding school through first accreditation process, overseeing first publication of faculty and family handbooks (including the creation of many first time policies), improving curriculum and disciplinary procedures, counseling, college preparedness.

Taught Literature, Writing, Art, Graphic Design, SAT Prep, as well as acted as Advisor to a series of students. Took on responsibility for school's IT.
