Geotechnical Technician
As a GeoTechnical Technician I analysed soil and rock samples giving accurate descriptions and used relative tests to determine the strength of the sample. I then took my descriptions along with the strength tests to give accurate strata descriptions. I also wrote desk study reports where I examined the previous uses of a site, looking for any potential hazards that may exist within the immediate surrounding area or within site itself and advise remedial action. I also did site work including trial pitting and a varity of insitu testing. Working as a Geotechinical Technician I feel I have further developed my time keeping skills as well as working under pressure and to deadlines. I have developed my customer relationship skills through communication with clients and engineers.
Laboratory Technician
As a Laboratory Technician I tested the many different samples that came into the company with tests ranging from strength analysis to chemical components within the sample. With the testing side to my job I built upon my team working skills and my ability to work under pressure and to a time scale. Two days a week I was employed to describe samples and write up strata changes within the borehole currently being logged. These two days logging helped increase my skills working alone as well as working to deadlines in order to get jobs out on time. This helped me learn how to organise my own work schedule as well as follow ones set out for me.
Butcher
A part time weekend job I've accepted working from 08:30 to 16:00. Served customers as well as prepared different cuts of meat for display purposes.
Butcher
As a butcher I dealt specifically with customers improving my communication skills as well as my problem handling skills. I learnt to work as a team and as an individual, both with goals set within a time frame.
