I am a behavioural psychologist interested in promoting a better understanding of political violence and protest behaviour in high-stakes environments, such as active conflict regions. Why do some individuals choose to become activists for their community or a political cause, accepting significant personal risks, while others engage in violent extremism, or don't engage at all? As part of my PhD (LSE) and postdoctoral work (XCEPT/King's College Department of War Studies), I am conducting field research mostly across the Middle East, collaborating with people and institutions working in conflict resolution, academia, and policy.
