Here at the Development Department of The Historic New Orleans Collection, we work together as a team to find new donors, develop and maintain our relationships, and process donations and fundraising goals. My job as Stewardship & Administrative Coordinator is to research new prospects and donors to provide high-level profiles or spreadsheets for management, run prospects through DonorSearch for wealth screening as needed, submit moves management plans through Tessitura, create constituency files as needed, send agendas and notes/meeting minutes for capital campaign meetings, keep track of our fundraising progress as capital campaign coordinator. I am also a member of our organization's IDEA committee to find and implement solutions to issues around diversity and inclusion.

As a self-employed freelance writer, I write original articles regarding a myriad of topics including industry reports, corporate news, stock fluctuations, commodity news, regional economic news, tutorials, business start-ups guides, career guides, human resources, economics, frugal living, collaborative consumption, personal finance, health, buzz-worthy topics, natural living, and local events.I am currently a personal finance contributor for Demand Media Studios on Houston Chronicle online, The San Francisco Gate online, E-How Money, Zack's Investment Research, Synonym, Global Post, and The Nest. I am also a frequent contributor for Livin3 and TheThings.Before writing for Demand Media Studios, I was a news writer/editor of economics, finance, business, and industry articles for ReportLinker.com, Chris Kidd Financial Coach, and SDA Network News, as their former Chief Economics Correspondent. Since the Fall of 2014, I have been helping Professor Valentine as a volunteer at his many nation-wide conferences for the two organizations he owns and operates: The Academy of Business Research (ABR) and the International Organization of Social Sciences and Behavioral Research (IOSSBR). I helped with standard front-desk activities, including greeting guests and speakers, handing them name tags and itineraries, answering questions, guiding them to their conference rooms, and helping with any technical problems that occur when the IT people are unavailable. I was hired by Mr. Valentine in November 2015 to help him market his prestigious journals and conferences to professors, researchers, and specialists in their field. I am in charge of creating mailing lists for prospective clients, adding their information to Mail Chimp and Madmimi, and create newsletters to advertise the latest journal, provide information on conferences, and publish any news or awards related to the organizations.

Mobile, Alabama Area

At New York Life, I learned about the financial services industry from a new perspective. I was taught in a NYL classroom how to create a sales script, a phone script, and elevator pitch. In order to sell life insurance and health insurance, I obtained my Life, Health, and Accidental Insurance License for Mississippi for 2011 through 2013. The training program at New York Life taught me how to market myself and be more confident when presenting information to others, a skill I later used to obtain more freelance writing gigs, to be more confident when on the phone as an Occupancy Specialist and dealing with clients as a certified life coach and clients at professional conferences for Professor Valentine.

I wrote monthly articles to inform viewers of important issues in the fields of economics and finance including international economics and finance, personal finance, economic theory, investment, trade, regional economics, and current events. After not hearing from the owner for some months and without updates to the website, I am assuming the project is on hiatus. If, however, they resume posting, I will be more than happy to continue my contributions.
