In partnership with the Utah State Board of Education’s Farm to School Specialist, I am tasked with growing and supporting Utah’s Farm to Fork Program. Farm to Fork enriches the connection communities have with fresh, healthy food and local producers by changing food purchasing and education practices at schools and preschools. Farm to Fork believes agriculture should be a universal part of the Utah education experience; not everyone needs to be a farmer, but everyone needs to know about farming.My primary responsibility is network creation, growth, and development by hosting special events that promote local food and local food procurement, serving as the point of contact to connect farmers and educators, and developing awareness campaigns utilizing social media and diverse communication channels.

Coordinate communication about and execution of health disparities and health equity strategies in Summit County. Conduct internal assessment of staff to determine proficiency of skills needed to address health equity to inform training strategies.Specific focus on addressing food insecurity issues as a social determinant of health, not limited to increasing SNAP-enrollment and access to healthier foods within local food pantries.

• Partner with community health leadership and state agencies to address current COVID-19 crisis in the Summit County area, serving as an immediate contact for impacted individuals, coordinating resources and tracking all efforts to contribute to state and national data• Participate in crisis communication efforts, working with leadership to understand and address the needs of the community while processing sensitive and confidential information in real time, finding ways to creatively solve problems• Listen and respond to patient’s immediate needs, helping them get access to resources such as financial support, COVID testing and treatment, mental health services, ensuring continued contact tracing efforts and adjusting to a fluctuating case load due to outbreaks• Created an extensive documentation system to track cases and private information in one location, recording all interactions, points of contact and issues, providing daily feedback to staff members and regulatory agencies

• Serve as the onsite Garden Manager, participating in planning seasonal growth efforts, managing staff and volunteer resources, creating educational opportunities for community members’ and ensuring that resources are sustained and garden is supported• Seek creative partnership and opportunities for collaboration with nonprofit community groups to strengthen garden program offerings and buildrelationships with local community-based organizations• Develop and implement creative community outreach strategies to engage new members, including door-door outreach, marketing/social media andinteracting regularly with potential donors, creating fundraising events to increase awareness and help create a tie to the garden and the mission• Oversee 130+ plot renters, serving as their first point of contact for all concerns including irrigation, travel coverage, accessibility and output, putting together weekly food for 5+ families in need

• Actively drive Wasatch Cooperative Market’s owner recruitment campaign to meet co-op member-owner objectives and milestones, educating potentialmembers, converting new members and continuing to exceeding membership sales goals• Communicate regularly with 8+ Board of Directors, processing evolving information such as plans, location, and construction efforts and keepingcommunity members engaged• Create unique outreach events to support the capital campaign, adjusting efforts to respond to COVID-19 restrictions, managing all event efforts andpromoting the market and events through press releases, social media, targeted advertising, and presence at local events

Analyzed video recordings of both individuals and groups of domesticated turkey. Utilized ethograms to recognize and record visual and auditory behavioral data. Assisted with on-farm work in preparation for experiments and to determine the welfare of the animals.

Lab Assistant for Dr. Jonathan Walton in the Plant Biology division of Michigan State University, assisting researchers with experiments and created reagents necessary for scientific investigations. Prepped the laboratory, sterilized work environments, and organized research equipment.

Rotated through typical workdays of zoo professional, including curator, keeper, conservationist, veterinarians, education coordinator, public relations, and business offices. Participated in feeding, training, cleaning, enrichment, and medical care of many species of animals. Aided in marketing campaigns and helped developed educational programs for the zoo.
