Project Engineer
Current• Lead engineering activities on complex projects, including machining, welding, and vacuum chamber/pressure vessel fabrication• Develop strong customer relationships; partner with customer in pre-contract, quote, and contract phase to achieve end-user objectives• Analyze project requirements, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and timely production• Participate in technical sales initiatives by developing cost estimates, timelines, and proposals for RFQs• Develop creative, cost-effective strategies to meet objectives on projects ranging in value from $5K to $400K +• Read and interpret drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), weld callouts, and sensor diagrams • Prepare and present project, design review, and kick off meetings; participate in continuous improvement meetings• Create 3-D models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor• Actively monitor project resources, costs, schedule and scope• Collaborate with operations team to develop and implement optimized fabrication solutions that meet customer, budget, and schedule objectives• Address questions from machine operators and assembly team to ensure all job requirements are met• Compile material certifications, dimensional inspections, and test reports for submission to customer.• Perform design engineering analysis; perform pressure chamber, vacuum vessel, and loading calculations
