Cell-based meat will be needed to feed the world in the near future, as factory farming will soon be deemed too damaging to public health, animal welfare and the environment, as well as economically unsustainable. To deliver a cell-based meat product to the dinner table that looks and feels like a steak, scaffolding is needed. At Novel Farms, we developed cruelty-free, nutritional, and low-cost scaffolds that can be tailored to improve the texture and taste of any type of meat. Our mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to cellular agriculture by producing cell-based meat products that are hard to resist. • Elucidated the order of assembly of the Target of Rapamycin Complex 2 (TORC2) at the yeast S. cerevisiae's plasma membrane using biochemical techniques, fluorescence microscopy, and chemogenetically-induced protein degradation.• Developed protocols for TORC2 purification from yeast cells and polyclonal antibodies for the detection of TORC2 subunits.• Implemented monthly inspections to ensure compliance with the EH&S Radiation Safety Guidelines in the laboratory.
