Conducts research on a wide variety of medical topics as well as VA databases to ensure data analyses is done correctly. Works with employees across the VA to ensure data integrity. Develops project plans to perform data analyses with precision. Develops algorithms in SAS used in data extracts. Continuously uses the statistical software SAS to conduct quantitative analyses for reports produced by the Office of Inspector General. For every project, creates programs that manipulate multiple databases to create a single database applicable to the study at hand. Reviews the programs and contributions of co-workers to ensure they are factually presenting what is asked. Prepares visually pleasing graphs and tables for a wide range of VA reports. Interprets quantitative analyses, graphs, and tables to prepare applicable recommendations in written reports. Contributes to writing the reports. Reviews reports to ensure they are technically correct. Written reports have ranged from dealing with a single VA medical center to Congressionally mandated national reports. Given presentations of projects to directors within the OIG, individuals with a non-technical backgrounds, and senior executive service members.
